31st May – 3rd June Gloucestershire,Warwickshire Railway(GWR)
The GWR is all ready for their big event of the year – the Cotswold Festival of Steam- which is based at their Toddington, Winchcombe and Cheltenham Racecourse stations.
The biggest “name” will be Gresley LNER V2 class 2-6-2 No 4771 Green Arrow which is coming from the National Railway Museum in York. It will be it’s first ever visit to the GWR and it will be a great sight, resplendant in it’s striking pre-war apple green livery.
Other engines which will be running are Somerset and Dorset 7F 2-8-0 No 88, SR West Country 4-6-2 No 34007 Wadebridge, GWR small Prairie 2-6-2T No 5542 (working the “Coffee Pot” push pull auto coach), GWR Modified Hall 4-6-0 No 7903 Foremarke Hall, GWR 0-6-0ST No 813 and 9F 2-10-0 No 92203 Black Prince.
There will be a full working of freight, local passenger and through passenger trains and the chance to see behind the scenes at the GWR Winchcombe carriage works.
Come and stay at Little Gidding, which is only half an hour away from the Festival, and be a steam buff in comfort in the Cotswolds
