A Harper Adams University student from Warwickshire was awarded a prestigious scholarship at an annual ceremony on Wednesday.
Eleanor Kane from Shipston-on-Stour is studying BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Animal Science and is the recipient of a British Poultry Council (BPC) Scholarship from Faccenda.
The BPC aims to encourage more young adults into the poultry sector by offering 16 scholarships to second year degree students and first year FdSc students studying in agriculture or food production.
A condition of the scholarship is that the recipient must undertake their placement year with the awarding firm.

19-year-old Eleanor said: ”I am extremely delighted to have received the Faccenda scholarship, and am greatly looking forward to my placement year with the company.
“I would like to thank everyone in the Development Trust for their help during this process.”
Eleanor received the scholarship at the annual Harper Adams University Development Trust Scholarship Presentation.
Anthony Burgess, Chairman of the Development Trust, said: “This is the seventh year of awards. In 2006/07 we made 21 awards of £17,000. This year we made 99 awards of £225,000.
“I thank our sponsors, our professional team and the academics who give their time voluntarily. Finally, we come to our students. Well done and congratulations.”
