More than 300 people applied to be Cirque du Vulgar gimp after sudden resignation

An unusual job opportunity at an adults-only circus prompted more than 300 applications.

The UK-based Cirque du Vulgar took to Facebook to reveal one of its gimps has suddenly left the company, leaving its dominatrix a slave down for the remainder of the tour.

The Daily Star reported the man could no longer take the treatment of the circus's dominatrix Lucy Ladbrooke.

She said: “There are people who just can’t hack it. My routine is quite dramatic and I don’t smile much. She’s quite scary. I’ve got my two gimps in my torture chamber."

But the vacancy was met with a massive response, with more than 300 people applying for the unusual role.
