A mining and metals company in Kentucky has spend $2.5 million restoring a furnace, which will create 40 new jobs.

CC Metals and Alloys (CCMA), revealed the investment on Thursday, February 3.

The company in Calvert City has invested in modernizing the furnace, which has created the new jobs and increased the company’s workforce by more than 28 per cent.

The move is expected to increase the company’s output will grow to around 85,000 metric tonnes annually, an increase of 18 percent.

The company has been working to help the community in the state, providing food and housing support to six local charities over the Christmas period.

It also provided more than $70,000 for families affected by tornadoes in the west of the state.
