A company that once had 1,400 staff in Ohio now has just over half that amount after shutting offices and shifting focus to remote working.

The offices in Gahanna closed at the end of 2020, and the workforce in Ohio now numbers 760.

Around 400 people work at the company’s distribution center, with the rest now working from from home.

Seasonal workers are not included in the data.

The company has a long-term plan to transfer customer service and engagement jobs to permanent remote work, which was accelerated Covid-19 pandemic’s arrival in 2020.

Jobs in the studio and production industry were relocated to Seattle, while some IT jobs were relocated to Obetz.

The company has also lost staff in Seattle and Columbus in 2019, but never provided a figure.

The two former Zulily office spaces are among the bigger sublease spaces available in central Ohio, at 32,500 square feet and 29,000 square feet, respectively.

A statement from the company said: “Columbus is a major, rising tech hub and we’re actively recruiting tech expertise within the space,” the corporate stated.

Zulily, LLC is an American e-commerce company headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

It sells clothing, footwear, toys, infant gear and home products.
