A former executive at Amazon.com Inc. who worked on the Alexa voice assistant has joined Google jobs as a vice president.
Alex Spinelli recently joined Alphabet Inc.’s Google after leaving LivePerson Inc., a company that creates chatbots to help businesses connect with customers. Spinelli came to LivePerson from Amazon’s Alexa unit, where he worked on the software that powers the e-commerce company’s digital assistant.
In May, LivePerson announced a collaboration with Google Cloud to integrate tools aimed at increasing the efficiency of contact center agents. Spinelli is involved in a number of Google initiatives, including TensorFlow, the software used to build artificial intelligence systems.
Alex oversaw all global R&D at LivePerson’s technology organization. Prior to joining LivePerson, he was the global head of Alexa OS for Amazon.com, where he led the development of the core software systems and capabilities that underpin the Alexa platform while managing a large, distributed team of developers around the world. Prior to joining Amazon,
Alex previously worked as the CTO Jobs of McCann World group, one of the world’s largest marketing organizations with 24,000 employees in over 100 countries, and as the CTO for North America and Asia-Pacific at AXA Technologies, where he developed large-scale grid computing for predictive modeling.
