Google challenging Microsoft’s grip on business and workers

Google Workspace

Google has revealed a product it hopes will tempt users away from Microsoft and its historic hold on the office.

The tech giant, based out of the Googleplex in California, has introduced a free tier of its workspace called Necessities Start, which dones not include Gmail.

Users can sign up using their current work emails, and will be able to use Chat, Docs, Drive, Meet, Sheets and Slides.

Google hopes businesses will be able to use Necessities Starter to replace their historical productivity tools, such as the Microsoft Workplace suite, when they want to improve team communication or launch a new enterprise.

Even if a company has gone all-in on Microsoft 365, it will be able to use Necessities Starter whenever you want.

However, the idea is that certain employees may be persuaded to use Google's program, and if Google can begin removing employees one by one from an organization, then perhaps more businesses will consider supplementing or replacing their productivity options with Workspace.

Users who sign in with their existing work e-mail accounts may immediately begin asking co-workers to collaborate on projects with them, with Google offering 15GB of Drive storage for everyone.

Workers may converse with one another over Chat and Meet and while groups are confined to 25, a vast variety of groups in a company can join.
