Popular Minchinhampton visitor attraction The Kitchen has been sold following a truly global effort by go-to Cotswolds specialists Colliers International.
The Kitchen has been operated by Werner and Dianne Bunt who grew the cafe from a small 30 cover shop to a thriving 120-cover restaurant during their ten years at the helm.
Colliers International hotels director Peter Brunt said: “The Kitchen is a tea shop business at the top of the tree – a multi award winning business with a high turnover and a fabulous large apartment for owners to live in.
“The combination of all those positives boosted the value of The Kitchen well above most tea shops and took it beyond the reach of most people looking for a similar property.
“It is a testament to the long reach of the hotels team that buyers were actually found out in Australia.”
Peter Brunt added: “The Kitchen includes a superb spacious self-contained flat with a lovely garden which makes it ideal for couples or families and is perhaps the best accommodation I have seen in a business like this.”
The Grade II Listed property is believed to date from the seventeenth century and features a delightful trading area with room indoors and outdoors – weather permitting.
Peter Brunt concluded: “The Cotswolds region has proved particularly resilient through the downturn and is seeing increased activity as buyers respond to faster than anticipated improvements in the market.
“Having sold a lot of Cotswold businesses in 2013 it has left my shelves looking a little bare so I am looking for new properties for what I already know to be a good number of well-funded buyers looking to spend in this perennially popular region.”
