FedEx is developing a new iOS feature for its mobile app which will allow its customers to track deliveries from other companies.

The feature is called “Crosstrack” and has been launched to compete with Shopify‘s popular Shop App.

Its new feature will facilitate delivery tracking from other services in one app.

The search and tracking screen in the mobile app would be divided into two separate tabs for Crosstrack and FedEx.

An article published in TechCrunch states “Crosstrack” is currently under development.

Users will be able to track orders from FedEx, UPS, USPS, and other providers using the Shop app.

It means they can get the information without having to use numerous different applications.

A FedEx spokesperson said: “FedEx is constantly exploring digital experience concepts to help meet our customers’ needs. This is one of the many things we have tested with customers.”

The app development remains in its early stages, but is expected to be beneficial once it develops.
