Friday 4th July – Sunday 6th July at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, with a Spitfire fighter flying in low on Saturday evening.

SpitfireWait for weeks for a bus and then 40 come at once….diesel trains by the dozen…and a Spitfire flies by.
Not only will there be an intensive service of diesel hauled trains running over the full length of the line, using a variety of classic diesel locomotives, including visiting classes 31 and 47 but a Spitfire fighter will “strafe” Toddington Station on Saturday evening at about 19.10 (weather permitting). Flying in low, at just 100ft, the sound of the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine is bound to make the hairs on the back of your neck tingle! The aircraft is from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

On Sunday 40 buses are expected to cram into Toddington Station car park. Ranging in age from the early 1940s to the late 1970s they are bound to bring nostalgic memories for many and the combination of diesel power on rail and road is bound to be a heady mixture.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ride these classic buses too- there will be morning and late afternoon visits to Cheltenham and Evesham stations for those coming by National Rail; while a half-hourly shuttle will run between Toddington Station and Broadway. Something for all the family to enjoy.
